Description

The VP, Shared Services will report to the COO and will be responsible for spearheading critical initiatives that will enable step-change growth and supporting teams that enable our national clinic staff to serve and care for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Upperline’s internal teams across Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System, Call Center, Central Clinical Services (e.g. surgery scheduling, prior authorizations, referral management), and Ancillary businesses, including Pharmacy and Pathology
  • Collaborates with the EMR Director to own and execute the EMR (athena) strategic roadmap with a focus on execution of EMR transitions for our aggressive growth, adopting new technology and modules to improve operations, and working with various internal constituents to rank and manage EMR improvements to drive the strategic roadmap
  • Solve operational pain points or clinical needs through nontraditional and creative technology solutions including improved VBC workflows in the EMR, population health tools integrating with EMRs, and explore additional development opportunities to customize EMR instance for Upperline’s unique needs
  • Develops and implements optimization and automation opportunities for shared services (i.e. EMR integrations, offshoring / near country talent sourcing, outsourcing initiatives)
  • Develop strategic roadmap to move 50 person contact center from a traditional scheduling function to one that improves VBC outcomes, solves key pain points for patients and providers, and drives key operational success for our providers in the field
  • Along with Call Center Director, align organization on goals and metrics for contact center team and improve reporting and communications across the organization to show the value
  • Implement priority strategic initiative that is merging the clinic and contact center roles for remote patient engagement by working with field managers, providers, learning and development team, and contact center supervisors
  • Drives complex business decisions through a structured approach leveraging reporting and analytics
  • P&L ownership focused on cost management, monitoring expense and resource allocations and ensuring positive ROI for areas of responsibility
  • Partners actively with Corporate and Clinic leaders to ensure success of programs and projects— including development of strategy, KPIs, implementation of action plans, and reporting on outcomes

Qualification & Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive operational leadership in a corporate healthcare setting – ideally, leading multiple teams
  • Career experience also inclusive of management consulting highly preferred
  • Operational experience includes issue identification and resolution, tangible accountability for implementing change, moving teams and initiatives forward, and actively creating measurable impact on organizational transformation
  • Previous ownership of offshore functions or teams preferred
  • Creative and collaborative leader who develops innovative approaches and ideas, meets challenges with resourcefulness, generates suggestions for continuous improvement of systems and processes, and course corrects when necessary
  • Systems thinker with demonstrable passion for simplifying and streamlining processes for the end-user; strengths in building, optimizing and standardizing processes, systems, and technology
  • Proven track record of managing budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring financial stewardship
  • Self-motivated and execution-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Executive level interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a fast-paced matrixed environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
