Description
As our Vice President of Financial Control, you’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening and maintaining Merlin’s financial control framework across our global operations. Reporting to the Senior VP of Group Finance, you’ll oversee financial policies, ensure compliance with IFRS standards, and lead external financial reporting—including producing our statutory accounts and annual report. You’ll also manage our shared service centre and payroll team while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to embed best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving Excellence: Maintain and enhance our financial control framework and ensure compliance across all Merlin sites.
- Leading Systems and Processes: Oversee the strategic development of group reporting and accounting systems.
- External Reporting: Deliver accurate, compliant financial reports, ensuring the highest standards for statutory audits and annual reports.
- People Leadership: Mentor and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Qualification & Requirements
- A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 10-15 years PQE, ideally Big 4 trained.
- Proven experience in multi-national, multi-site organisations with a strong grasp of IFRS.
- Expertise in financial policies, compliance, and managing finance systems in cash-based businesses.
- A dynamic leader with a track record of developing teams and driving organisational performance.
- Experience with shared service centres and payroll operations is highly desirable.
