Description

The VP of Operations, Advertising Product will work with multiple teams within the Ad Product and Ad Revenue organization and the larger Product & Tech portfolio related to advertising and advertising technology to develop, manage or improve cross-functional initiatives while also providing strategic and operational support to drive the Senior Vice President, Chief Ad Product Officer’s (CAPO) vision forward. You will partner with cross-functional groups to drive and ensure strategic alignment and maintain delivery of long- and short-term strategic and operating plans.

You should be capable of holding leaders accountable for deliverables and be a sharp critical thinker who can solve business issues.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Design and implement processes for operational excellence, supported by critical business metrics that connect P&T with GTM.
  • Manage all operational functions within the Ads Product portfolio with the ability to dramatically reduce human intervention and partner with contracting entities with the ability to “follow the clock” for a light-weight, powerful, and automated support model.
  • Collaborate with the CRO and senior leadership to drive revenue growth and operational excellence.
  • Capture, analyze, and report on the efficacy of GTM and P&T processes to take action and optimize for revenue and productivity
  • Develop, refine, and continuously monitor progress against an accurate integrated program plan with critical dependencies and measurable milestones that form the basis of functional workstreams and deliverables
  • Ensure and analyze alignment of project outcomes across customer value, program scope (incl. budget & resources), and strategic business objectives and accordingly, leads the team to recommend specific courses of action.
  • Synthesize complex and disparate information into relevant and easy-to-understand insights for the project team to act upon.
  • Identify key decisions by senior leadership and lead the team to prepare for these discussions by ensuring presentation of balanced and clearly articulated representation of the relevant data, including trade-off decisions.
  • Coordinate project planning and actively manage cross-functional project stakeholders, including making effective use of both formal and informal communication channels – schedule meetings with appropriate attendees; prepare agenda and materials.

Chief of Staff

  • In collaboration with various stakeholders, distill and organize strategic recommendations for CAPO’s approval on key decisions (anticipate requests for additional information, support with additional research or analysis and surface key takeaways).
  • Support the CAPO on any strategic or operational matters and interact with business leaders to develop a deep understanding of critical issues; engage the right people and data to focus the CAPO’s time and attention on rapid resolution of issues or opportunities.
  • Drive or contribute to initiatives that may be undefined, span multiple initiatives and functional areas.
  • Plan content for leadership meetings; and guide business owners on content development.
  • Aggregate and track progress against operating and strategic action items emerging from key meetings.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • MBA preferred or equivalent, relevant experience like direct C-level reporting structures
  • 5+ years of business experience with substantial experience in Product, Engineering, and/or Ad Technology.
  • Ability to work, communicate and influence successfully across different disciplines and different levels of seniority
  • 15+ years of experience in roles around operational excellence, including revenue and especially product & technology organizations
  • 10+ years of experience in program management, business operations or other equivalent, relevant experience
  • Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to link strategic objectives to detailed project plans
  • Adept at searching for program risks and enacting early mitigations or escalating appropriately
  • High comfort level in drafting materials and communicating to an executive audience
  • Strong organization skills including a meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently — prioritize and drive multiple projects successfully and manage a wide range of incoming requests and responsibilities
