Description

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking a passionate and experienced Vice President of Human Resources, Greater China, to lead the strategic development and execution of HR initiatives in the Greater China (GC) region. In this pivotal role, you will champion a range of initiatives focused on business partnership, talent acquisition and management, learning and development, employee engagement, and culture. As a trusted business partner and advisor on people issues, you will collaborate closely with the Greater China Leadership team to drive business success while ensuring that Hyatt Care and its values are deeply integrated into the colleague experience. Key Responsibilities

Establish a Greater China People Strategy and Elevate Expertise Capabilities of Human Resources Organization

  • Develop an HR strategy for Greater China aligned with corporate priorities.
  • Communicate Hyatt’s People Strategies effectively.
  • Strengthen HR functions in Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, and Total Rewards.
  • Transform HR from a generalist to an expert model. Building up GC HR shared services.

Employment Branding and Talent Acquisition

  • Drive the Hyatt Employer Brand by implementing Hyatt EVP.
  • Lead recruitment for key roles like RVPs above and GMs.
  • Launch external branding initiatives to attract top talent.
  • Shift to proactive recruitment strategies such as young talent program for future needs.

Talent Management and Performance Management

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify high-potential talent through talent review.
  • Assess talent needs and build talent pipeline through a sold talent succession plan.
  • Implement performance management initiatives to foster a high-performance culture.

Learning and Development

  • Develop tailored learning solutions with the ASPAC L&D team.
  • Customize the Learning Framework for GC.
  • Ensure quality in GM Development Program (GMDP) participants and promote a culture of continuous learning.

Total Rewards

  • Collaborate with leadership team on total rewards strategies in GC.
  • Communicate and educate people managers on the GC pay philosophy.
  • Enhance benefits programs to support employee well-being.

Organizational Culture and Effectiveness

  • Advocate for Hyatt Ways of Working (HWoW) and collaborate on organizational structure.
  • Drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and be a key member of GDEIC.

Colleague Engagement & Wellbeing

  • Oversee GC employee engagement efforts and support survey initiatives.
  • Implement wellbeing programs across hotels in GC.

Compliances & Disciplinary Actions

  • Guide properties on labor relations and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with Compliance Manager on disciplinary cases.

Business Planning and Workforce Planning

  • Participate in business planning & reviews and prepare HR business plans.

MOR and Operational Review

  • Oversee implementation of MOR schedules and conduct operational reviews.

Communication & Meetings

  • Enhance synergies among hub functions and facilitate HR communication.

Other tasks:

  • Support hotel openings and owner relations.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Education: master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in HR leadership, with 5+ years in senior management in Greater China.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to drive organizational change and employee engagement.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of labor laws and HR best practices in Greater China.
  • Cross-cultural Competence: Ability to manage cultural differences; fluency in Mandarin and English.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities for HR metrics and technology.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Visionary Outlook: Ability to anticipate workforce trends for long-term success.
