Description

Lead, direct, and control Omya regional’s financial resources to maintain the short and long-term financial health and stability of the regional business.

Direct all regional financial functions so that financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization’s short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.

Being a key business and sparring partner, drive and instill a performance culture across the region, together with the Regional CEO and Regional Management team – pushing for ambitious targets aligned with overall company strategy and increasing transparency for all relevant stakeholders.

This position will require relocation to our Region Americas HQ in Mason, OH.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directs the Finance Department of the Region which includes the following: leadership, succession planning, training, coaching, communication, organizational development (structure and processes), and people development
  • Establishes and oversees application of Omya Group standards, polices and directives.
  • Establish Regional internal control audit process improvement plan; communicate and follow up audit findings mitigation actions with Regional Management team.
  • Oversees and directs all finance and controlling (profitability analysis/decision support/etc) processes for Omya and the Region, and ensure proper application of Omya Group standards across the region
  • Oversees regional and group reporting requirements and monitors audit recommendations (management letter and internal audit reports)
  • Manage the financial audit reviews and communicate the outcome to the Group.
  • Oversees all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization related to forecast activity, to predict following KPI– Sales, Gross Margin, EBIT, Cash Flow, Capital Spend.
  • Provides the regional management team with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Manages consolidation and task setting processes of financial forecasting.
  • Drives 5-year forecast process and ensure the quality.
  • Directs the optimization of financing structure (debt, dividend, equity, tax) and Net Working Capital. Ensure that Regional financing needs are covered with proper financing structure.
  • Oversees and monitors cash and cash equivalents and optimize cash management and Group netting.
  • Provides guidance regarding benchmarking and best practices to the Region’s Omya companies.
  • Lead financial due diligence for ongoing and new Mergers & Acquisition activities.
  • Analyze potential target to acquire
  • Lead the digital transformation projects (examples: Autobank, DOXIS, etc)
  • Build up Shared Service Center relation and transfer P2P and O2C processes to SSC.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Business Administration or related; Masters Degree will be a plus.
  • 12 years of experience in similar position with a strong exposure in Finance processes and treasury exposure – preferably in an Industrial / manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of international strategic business / P&L controlling to appreciate the complex business inter-relationships within a matrix structure.
  • General Management experience will contribute to lead the business requirements. In-depth knowledge and understanding of the business processes and organization.
  • Demonstrated experience of strong initiative, leadership and management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, result driven. Effective relationship builder, able to solve problems in a creative and structured way.
  • Ability to work on the strategically level yet also displays a down-to-earth attitude. Strong in people management and good interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Knowledge of Portuguese will be desired.
  • The ideal candidate must be willing to travel up to 30%, including occasional trips lasting up to two weeks throughout North and South America.
