Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Tax Manager Specialist to join our team. This full-time, remote role is pivotal for ensuring compliance in payroll tax filings and resolving tax-related issues. The Tax Specialist will handle IRS and state tax notices, prepare and file federal and state payroll tax returns, manage W-2 and W-2C filings, and ensure adherence to U.S. payroll tax laws. Strong communication skills and the ability to research and resolve tax issues efficiently are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and resolve IRS and state tax notices with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Communicate with tax agencies (federal and state) to address and resolve inquiries or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and file federal and state payroll tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage W-2, W-2C, and other payroll-related tax filings.
  • Provide clear and professional communication with clients to explain tax matters and resolve issues.
  • Stay informed on changes to U.S. payroll tax laws and apply updates where necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance tax processes and maintain client satisfaction.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll tax preparation and filing (e.g., 941, 940, W-2, W-2C).
  • Certifications: Payroll certification such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) is required.
  • Skills:Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective client and agency interaction.
  • Excellent research skills for analyzing and resolving IRS and state tax notices.
  • Experience with payroll software and tax filing systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations, such as tight deadlines or escalated issues.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
