The AVP – Transition & GCC Advisory will lead strategic projects, transition, transformation, initiatives across custody, capital markets, and enterprise operations. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end transitions, operating model design, stakeholder governance, risk and compliance alignment, and driving operational excellence across global delivery locations.

The incumbent will partner with senior business leaders, operations, technology, finance, risk, and external stakeholders to deliver scalable and efficient offshore/onshore operating models aligned with the bank’s global strategy.

Transition & GCC Advisory, Assistant Vice President

Key Responsibilities

Transition Management

  • Lead end-to-end transition programs across custody operations, capital markets, fund services, asset servicing, and banking operations.
  • Manage migration lifecycle including due diligence, process assessment, solution design, knowledge transfer, stabilization, and hypercare.
  • Develop transition governance frameworks, project plans, RAID logs, dependency tracking, and executive reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure seamless migration of front-office support, middle-office, and back-office functions with minimal business disruption.
  • Drive operational readiness, SOP standardization, and process optimization during transition execution.
  • Coordinate with technology, infrastructure, HR, legal, compliance, and finance teams to support successful transitions.
  • Responsible for the management of significant high visibility & large – scale initiatives (e.g., strategic change management) including working on multi-disciplinary projects and demonstrate a broad knowledge of the firm and its key functions.
  • Support execution of location strategy including setup, expansion, consolidation of global business and functions
  • Advise leadership on location strategy, workforce planning, governance models, and target operating model (TOM) frameworks
  • Responsible for providing strategic consulting view around transitions in an effort to ensure all transfer decisions are in line with the business strategy.
  • Strong management skills who can lead a team in all aspects of transitions, data analysis and business intelligence reporting.
  • Report status on assigned program/ project workstream as per defined frequency to ensure alignment of goals and activities across work streams and initiatives
  • Research, create, and compile materials needed for effective discussion and planning; Support and maintain tools and templates used in the reporting function.
  • Manage logistics of initiative (e.g. meeting and schedule coordination, documentation including agendas

Stakeholder & Governance Management

  • Engage with senior stakeholders including business heads, COO organizations, transformation offices, and global operations leadership.
  • Prepare executive dashboards, steering committee materials, KPI reporting, and program governance updates.
  • Influence strategic decision-making through analytics, reporting insights, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Manage relationships across global teams and ensure alignment with enterprise transformation priorities.

Risk, Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure all transitions activities comply with regulatory, operational risk, information security, and enterprise governance standards.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Legal teams to address regulatory and control requirements.
  • Support implementation of robust controls, BCP frameworks, and operational resilience measures.
  • Ensure adherence to banking regulations, client confidentiality, and data governance requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process reengineering, automation, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Drive Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives across transitioned functions.
  • Support adoption of digital tools, workflow solutions, AI-enabled reporting, and intelligent automation capabilities.
  • Contribute to strategic transformation programs within custody and capital markets operations.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree in Business majoring in Accounting, Finance, or other Financial-related programs with experience in Custody Banking, Fund Accounting or Middle Office
  • Overall experience of 12-14 years with minimum 6-8 years of transition/project management experience in BFSI domain
  • Knowledge of custody platforms, capital markets products, and post-trade operations

Additional requirements

Familiarity with automation, AI/ML enablement, data analytics, and digital transformation programs.(Desirable)
