Description
We are looking for an experienced manager to join the Verkada Core Platform team. We are building the platform and shared services that will enable Verkada to quickly bring to market a suite of IoT devices and to power Verkada’s “operating system for buildings.” As a member of the Core team, you will be the architect, designer, and developer in a broad range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects impacting our Command product- it will include both frontend and backend engineers in your team
- Be able to roll up your sleeves and actively write code or prototype new features
- Inspire your team to create highly polished and delightful user experiences
- Work closely with Product and Design to build and ship features and delight users and customers
- Collaborate with other engineering leaders to define, communicate, and execute on goals, priorities and process
- Drive the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and development methodologies to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable code.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and industry developments, evaluating their potential impact on our web platforms and recommending innovative solutions.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the web engineering team, encouraging knowledge sharing, skill-building, and career growth opportunities.
Qualification & Requirements
- 2+ years experience managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers; including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
- 7+ years of work experience in a software engineering roles
- Experience with both backend and frontend
- Experience working in an agile team software development environment
- Eye for design, product details, and polish
- Working knowledge of at least one server-side framework and one database system
- Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
