Description
The Head of Shared Services (HSS) will provide high-level operational leadership across key support functions, including Information Technology, Procurement, and Facilities Management. This executive-level position is essential for establishing a consistent and scalable backbone that enables the business to execute on its long-term objectives. Acting as a strategic partner to the Head of Office, the HSS will shape operational frameworks, align resources, and streamline interdepartmental collaboration.
The HSS will operate as the primary liaison with domestic and international counterparts on matters concerning operational infrastructure and will be instrumental in driving process improvements across all shared service areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and optimize core shared service operations, ensuring alignment with growth strategies and operational resilience.
- Architect robust internal systems that support scale, performance, and cross-functional efficiency.
- Coach and manage functional leaders, promoting accountability, professional development, and high execution standards.
- Oversee integration and coordination across departments to eliminate inefficiencies and improve turnaround times.
- Champion the operational voice of the U.S. business, advocating for resources, capabilities, and change initiatives at the executive level.
- Formalize and implement process governance and workflow management systems that improve project visibility and delivery.
- Maintain oversight of output quality and vendor performance within shared services domains.
- Establish strategic direction for IT, procurement, and facilities that aligns with business risk appetite, compliance expectations, and future growth.
- Direct all facilities and space-related matters, including vendor relationships, optimization initiatives, and workplace enhancements.
Qualification & Requirements
- Advanced degree (Bachelor’s minimum, Master’s preferred) in Business Administration, Finance, or an aligned discipline.
- Proven operational track record with 15+ years of leadership in complex, matrixed environments—preferably within financial or professional services.
- 8+ years of experience in managing high-performing teams with clear examples of team progression and mentorship.
- Strategically minded, yet detail-attentive; comfortable building infrastructure while managing hands-on responsibilities.
- Influential communicator with the ability to shape decisions at senior levels and across geographies.
- Culturally aware and collaborative, with a demonstrated ability to lead change and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Adept at managing confidential and sensitive business matters with discretion and professionalism.
