Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Global Business Services (GBS) organization. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing large-scale programs that drive transformation and other initiatives across our service towers – (Finance, HR and Procurement). The ideal candidate will be a strategic and systems thinker who can translate business priorities into structured programs, while also serving as a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed global environment.

This position will offer some flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work, to be based in Glen Allen, VA.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Project Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional projects within the GBS portfolio, ensuring alignment with global strategic priorities.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations across regions and functions.
  • Drive disciplined program management by implementing best-in-class project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and performance tracking mechanisms.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery at a regional level, supporting consistency, scalability, and execution excellence across markets.
  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of program management approaches, tools, and methodologies to drive innovation, efficiency, and differentiation within GBS.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with business stakeholders, functional heads, and regional delivery teams to define project objectives, success metrics, and adoption of GBS-led initiatives/programs.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies through structured updates, business reviews and program dashboards.
  • Facilitate alignment across time zones, cultures, and business units to achieve common goals.
  • Build and sustain strong executive‑level relationships to enable effective decision‑making, issue escalation, and timely resolution of complex program challenges.
  • Align diverse stakeholder interests across regions, functions, and delivery partners to ensure shared ownership of outcomes and benefits realization.

Change & Transformation

  • Lead the change management strategy for programs, ensuring people, process, and technology impacts are understood and addressed.
  • Oversee communication plans, training needs, and adoption activities to enable smooth implementation and sustained business readiness.”

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure projects comply with corporate governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain program governance structures, including steering committees, working groups, risk reviews, and milestone gating.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation, project tracking, and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability. Regularly review and strengthen governance controls based on lessons learned, audit outcomes, and evolving business or regulatory requirements.

Qualification & Requirements

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field plus at least 8 years of progressive project management experience, including at least 3 years in a Global Business Services, shared services, or global transformation environment, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, global, multi-functional projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed, global organization, managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior leaders without direct authority. Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and service delivery models.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and influencing skills at all organizational levels – including executive-level reporting and facilitation.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification.
  • Experience with ERP or digital transformation programs (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday).
  • Background in outsourcing, business process reengineering, or operating model redesign.=
