Sr Manager, Software Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Build, Groom, Retain and Performance manage the engineering team
• Engineering and Delivery ownership of one or more products for the entire product life cycle.
• Drive Innovation, Engineering practices and Engineering Culture within the team.
• Partner with the Product Owner(s) and influence the product backlog to have a balance between the business stories and core engineering / technology debt stories
• Hands on experiences in building Microservices based cloud aware platforms.
• Review design and code, and provide timely feedback to the team
• Be able to problem solve and guide the team for resolving complex issues
• Measure and manage production stability indices of the product(s)
• Proactively identify integration dependencies with various enterprise products and channel it to the product backlog
• Drive everyday innovation culture with in the teams and beyond
• Represent the product architecture and design with the Architecture and Leadership community
• Share learnings and best practices with the global engineering community

Qualification & Requirements

Primary Skills (Must Have)

You must have 2+ years of hands on and leadership experience in minimum 2 complex applications and/or platforms. You MUST have very good understanding and working experience on the following:

• Microservices architecture and REST standards
• Java / Scala / Kotlin based micro services.
• Experience with frameworks SpringBoot, Webflux/RxJava, Resilience4J/Hystrix etc.
• Event driven architecture
• Resiliency, Scalability and Performance engineering
• Exposure to any cloud platform (GCP is preferred)
• Object oriented programming (Java will be added advantage)
• Relational and No Sql DB
• Automation and Testing frameworks
• CI/CD pipeline including Docker, Kubernetes
• Building applications on Unix / Linux OS
• People management

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in software development in an agile environment and working with third-party vendors/software solution providers
• 5 years of experience working in an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
• 3 years of experience in IT management in the retail industry
• 3 years of experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior leadership
• Master’s degree in computer science, CIS, or related field
