Description

The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis plays a critical role in evolving our FP&A function by building connections between operational performance data and financial outcomes, transforming our FP&A capabilities by building stronger connections between operational drivers and financial outcomes. — The position brings a blend of technical acumen, financial expertise, and strategic foresight to drive transformational change across our budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement processes

Sr. Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational-Financial Integration: Develop and implement data models and frameworks that link operational KPIs and shared services metrics to financial outcomes. Translate performance drivers into actionable financial insights.
  • Cost Structure Evolution: Establish and maintain a framework for analyzing and reporting costs on a fixed vs. variable basis. Build the systems and processes necessary to monitor cost behavior across departments.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting Modernization: Leads and supports efforts to modernize forecasting and budgeting methodologies, integrating real-time operational data with financial planning processes to improve accuracy and accountability.
  • KPI Financial Impact Analysis: Collaborate with department leaders to define, track, and report the financial implications of operational KPIs, including performance metrics within clinical, operational, and shared services functions.
  • System Transformation Leadership: Act as a key finance leader in the selection, implementation, and optimization of a new financial planning system. Ensure the new platform supports enhanced reporting, forecasting, and data integration capabilities.
  • Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with IT, Operations, Clinical Services, and other business units to ensure alignment between financial goals and operational realities. Drive adoption of new financial practices and tools across the enterprise.
  • Change Management: Support change efforts to drive system adoption, build capabilities, and enable data-driven decisions.

Qualification & Requirements

Experience:

  • Required: 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial systems, or finance transformation roles, ideally in healthcare or managed care

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Preferred: MBA or CPA

Specialized Skills

  • Required:
    • Strong technical and analytical skills, including experience working with large datasets, financial modeling, and business intelligence tools
    • High level of competence with financial planning systems (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Oracle, Workday Adaptive Planning, etc.) and ability to maximize the capabilities of those systems
    • Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects, especially financial system implementations and process improvements
    • Deep understanding of fixed vs. variable cost structures, KPI frameworks, and performance management
    • Exceptional communication skills with proven ability to translate complex analysis into business-insights.
    • Comfortable with change and ambiguity of a high-growth environment.
