Description

As a member of CIBC’s Trade Reporting Shared Services in Capital Markets Technology, the Senior Manager, Application Development is responsible for managing multiple development projects, development groups and application support functions for a major line of business. The role applies professional knowledge to oversee the development, testing and implementation of organization-wide systems, directing, motivating and developing staff to maximize their individual contribution and function effectively as a team. The Senior Manager, Application Development leads a team to manage resource requirements and allocations, monitor and improve quality, and ensure ‘best practice’ development techniques. Additionally, the role works with the business in the development, testing and implementation of application programs that help promote business improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding Requirements – Track and analyze operating environment for specified services and implement corrective actions as needed. Work with clients and internal partners to determine, negotiate, and manage services to the agreed standards. Monitor service levels to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Design and development – Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Design the application’s technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.
  • People Leadership – Lead and coach a high performing group team of individuals. Direct, motivate, and develop your team, maximizing their contributions and professional growth. Share knowledge and collaborate to come up with effective solutions to problems.
  • Relationship Management – Work closely with clients and business partners to develop, test, and implement application program. Impact and improve the business by advising application owners on the technology possibilities and requirements.

Qualification & Requirements

  • You can demonstrate experience 8+ years’ hands on .NET, C# with at least 2-3 of experience leading a team of developers. Seasoned professional with the ability to coach and help develop other team members. You are a code quality champion with hands-on experience in Software Design using SOLID Design principles. Experience with cloud development and infrastructure, preferably Azure. Have knowledge of Agile methodology and experience working in a Scrum team. It’s an Asset if You have good understanding of Regulatory Reporting. Ideally, you understand patterns of designing applications for cloud.
  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field.
