Description
This role leads media operations and program management capabilities for Roundel Media Acceleration Group (MAG) in Bangalore, reporting to Vice President, Roundel Media Target in India. The person is expected to be a key player in setting strategies for Roundel media capabilities; influencing product roadmap in partnership with the leadership team in US and Bangalore. The incumbent sets the strategy and annual goals for the global capabilities of media planning, trading & optimization, ad operations, program management across managed and self-service business lines.
The person is expected to unlock value of a set of connected capabilities from Bangalore and plays an active role in building Roundel as a leading media company in the world delivering compelling advertising and media solutions to brands/companies. They will play a crucial role in defining and improving OKRs, fostering transparency around performance, identifying opportunities, and implementing scalable best practices.
This role requires a strong ability to demonstrate strategic planning, business acumen with a keen eye on what’s happening on the broader media landscape, proactive decision making and strong execution rigor. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment interfacing between senior leadership and middle management and the team at large.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain leadership agility in a highly matrixed cross-functional team behind a strategic vision. Partner with and influence executive leaders across Roundel, marketing, and digital teams, including SVP level. Demonstrate horizontal leadership to drive cross-functional work, foster open communication, and champion a culture of shared responsibility with the goal of delivering improved outcomes. Primary key partners would include Product, Marketing, Digital, and Merchandising
- Prioritize key projects and management of critical issues to ensure attention and focus of Roundel’s senior leadership team. Eases decision making by striving to provide full information at point of decision and by serving as a reliable, trusted and objective channel for all stakeholders
- Organizing, aligning and driving strategic priorities with members of the senior Roundel leadership team
- Owns or identifies owners to drive operational initiatives across Roundel Bangalore. Ensures alignment and timelines support the overall business strategy
- Managing cross-marketing (perhaps cross-enterprise) projects, coordinating and executing to Target’s strategies and agenda to ensure efficient operations
- Ensures the work and teams responsible for integrating enterprise data and insights ties to strategic priorities at pyramid level.
- Engaging directly with key internal and external stakeholders, representing the organization in a clear and compelling way.
- Lead teams to optimize full funnel experiences on all relevant ad-platforms using tooling/automation, advanced analytics, and aligned goals/resourcing/processes to drive best in class experiences and financial results to drive and own media performance (P&L and marketshare growth)

- Responsible to identify and develop top talent; leading working teams to deliver on Roundel Business strategy and operational needs
- A leader of leaders, this person is a mentor with strong influence across not only their direct report teams, but across Roundel and M&D India
- Sets clear goals and objectives with ongoing coaching, performance evaluation and feedback to build the best team and do the best work
- Engages and inspires team to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance.
- Strategic thinker with effective, diplomatic and proactive leadership skills.
Reporting / Working Relationships:
- Reports to Vice President, Roundel Media, Target in India
- Reporting to this position is a team of senior media leaders across program management and media operations.

Qualification & Requirements
Key Competencies:
- Ability to work horizontally across Marketing & Digital and enterprise to ensure clear understanding of Target’s strategic roadmap, DigiRev priorities and Roundel business goals
- Deep understanding of business strategy, implementation/operational best practices and resource planning
- Strategic thinker with effective, diplomatic and proactive leadership skills.
- Critical thinking-ability to brainstorm on complex problems and leverage thought leadership to provide solutions
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to “read” people and connect with various audiences

- Strong executive presence and communication skills with ability to present in a variety of settings to teams and senior leadership; comfort speaking internally or externally

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Management, Strategy and Operations or other related field
- 18 + years’ experience in leading teams; desired is 10-12 years of experience in leading teams in retail and/or retail industry
- Ability and experience in communicating vision in an inspiring way
- Ability to provide clear, and actionable feedback
- Able to see solutions from a Guest’s perspective and deliver against business needs without sacrificing connected guest experience
- Ability to effective partner with key business leaders across the organization
- Experience and ability to present to all levels of leadership with confidence
