Together with Senior leaders in IMPG, the Associate Director will help build a team of highly motivated and competent ICAD Specialists and DX automation members.

You will manage and participate in the daily operations as well as global projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Associate Director, will oversee Makati office which will initially be comprised of individuals from two separate teams. The role will include recruiting, onboarding, and training of all individuals in the office, development of the office and the individuals working there, as well as taking part in production tasks rotations. The first two teams established in the Makita office will be the Index Calculation and Distribution Team (ICAD) and Data Excellence team (DX). ICAD members in Makita will report to an ICAD Team Lead and will be responsible for the real-time and end-of-day index calculation and distribution of indices in the APAC Region. DX members will focus on automating data management processes, designing and deploying Python/SQL/Power BI solutions, and executing operational tasks. The Associate Director will take full responsibility for office operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timely completion of tasks while fostering collaboration and professional growth within the teams.
  • Oversee the operational tasks for the ICAD and DX teams including but not limited to:
  • Calculate S&P DJI branded indices on a daily-basis, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of real-time and end-of-day index data to clients and end user
  • Run daily QA validations to the ensure accuracy and integrity of the index values distributed to clients
  • Daily Monitoring of real-time calculation and distribution of global indices, investigating system alerts, price movements and index value changes where appropriate and resolving in a timely manner
  • Monitor various underlying component indices for any updated values and recalculate where necessary, escalating to the respective Index Committee where dictated by S&P DJI policy
  • Ensure ICAD and DX processes adhere to internal S&P policies & procedures, data governance standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Work in close coordination with the technology and production support groups in order to further automate, enhance our system capabilities and troubleshoot production issues
  • Manage and maintain key relationships with other groups within the department and across other departments, particularly Client Coverage, Index Services and IT Support
  • Drive and participate in global DX projects, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation of automation tools and process enhancements
  • Responsible for the office’s development and performance including:
  • Head count
  • Hiring of new analysts
  • Assessing bandwidth and capabilities
  • Mentor and upskill team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation in automation and data management
  • Training new team members

Qualification & Requirements

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Strong managerial skills with demonstrated ability to lead teams to success
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a financial services or analytics role (at an index provider would be beneficial)
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, asset classes and company fundamentals
  • Ability to work in and create a team environment and to assume responsibility, work with others and manage projects
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities to solve original, non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner
  • Must be able to understand complex spreadsheet models and calculation algorithms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate work done by multiple people and / or groups

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent in Business, Mathematics, Economics, IT, or Finance preferred strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of analytical applications such as Excel and Access, and various data vendor tools including Refinitiv, FactSet and Capital IQ would be a plus
  • Experience with Python, SQL, VBA and Microsoft Power Platform would be preferred, including coding/automating spreadsheet calculation model
