Work with the Head of Shared Services to build a new Shared Services operating model across our European entity, driving efficiency, cost-effectiveness and service excellence.

Shared Services Operations Lead – Europe

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Strategy: Lead and oversee the operational standards for your platform, ensuring alignment with company objectives and service level agreements. Develop and execute strategic plans for the short, medium and long term.
  • Operational Optimisation: work with your organisation to drive process efficiencies, overseeing both planning and implementation. Ensure standardisation and best practice across your platform where possible. Oversee capacity planning and ensure that your teams are deployed in the most efficient manner.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: ensure your platform adheres to regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards. Identify and manage operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure compliance and minimise disruption.
  • Operational Performance Management: monitor and report on operational performance metrics, including turn-around-times, accuracy, customer satisfaction and cost efficiency. Provide actionable insights and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise performance.
  • Team Management and Development: Manage and mentor a team of Shared Services professionals, ensuring high levels of engagement, development and performance. Ensure your team have the necessary skills and tools to perform their roles effectively. Provide coaching, feedback and career development support.
  • Co-sourcing: Build and maintain strong relationships with co-sourcing partners to foster trust and collaboration. Conduct regular meetings with vendors to review performance, address issues, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Support the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive co-sourcing governance framework to ensure that all third-party relationships comply with contractual obligations, regulatory standards and internal policies.

  • Strong experience of Insurance across European entities
  • Knowledge of UW and Claims management and process gained at a senior level
  • 10+ years’ experience of client service management gained within an insurance environment
  • Hands-on experience of team management and people development
  • Proven track-record of managing teams through periods of change
