Description

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Shared Services Manager serves as a key partner to the Shared Services Senior Management Team and COO. This role drives cohesion and operational excellence across the unit by managing a range of strategic, high-impact, and cross cutting initiatives while aligning Shared Services teams. The Shared Services Manager is essential in advancing work to support unit and organizational objectives. Additionally, the position plays a vital role in shaping communication and engagement for a wide range of contexts within our global organization.

Shared Services Manager – Remote US

Key Responsibilities

Strategic coordination

  • Oversee coordination across Shared Services functions (HR, Finance, IT, Legal, Global Operations), ensuring alignment on priorities, challenges, and decisions points
  • Develop and manage Shared Services leadership meeting agendas, oversee file organization, and act as the team’s institutional memory—tracking decisions, performance metrics, and milestones to ensure continuity and accountability
  • Design and maintain dashboards and prepare regular reports on organizational metrics to support awareness and data-informed decision making
  • Contribute as a thought partner in Shared Services, providing guidance that drives collaboration and excellence
  • Create pathways for all voices to be heard and thoughtfully synthesize diverse and complex perspectives into actionable plans
  • Oversee project management for Shared Services initiatives in service of ensuring our structure and systems are effective in supporting program needs, which may include process optimization, supporting change management for new approaches, solution development to address challenges, and more
  • Be the driving force behind the implementation, communication, and evaluation of Shared Services priorities, ensuring sustained momentum while embodying RTSL’s values and approach
  • Apply a deep understanding of unit and organizational priorities and RTSL’s culture to routinely support special projects as assigned by the COO

Communication

  • Develop compelling communications and materials to advance Shared Services initiatives
  • Adapt communications to support a range of mediums and audiences, including senior leadership, Board of Directors, and global staff
  • Serve as the primary author or first reviewer for key materials with a lens for clarity, accuracy, and strategic alignment
  • Manage staff feedback channels with empathy, professionalism, and an understanding of RTSL’s culture

Qualification & Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field

Experience

  • At least eight years of experience in roles that involve systems and process management and high-level coordination across teams and functions

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong project management, organization, attention to detail, and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional listening, writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with experience tailoring messaging for a variety of contexts
  • Self-sufficient and resourceful with the ability to work independently while maintaining strong connections with colleagues and the pulse of the organization
  • Skilled in managing up and across within a complex, remote environment
  • Effective at building relationships and aligning stakeholders; demonstrates emotional intelligence and intercultural awareness while driving work forward
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office

Other

  • Able to work remotely during East Coast standard work hours and willing to convene periodically in-person for team meetings, as needed
