Description
The Manager of Shared Services will have primary oversight to the shared service functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable/collections and employee expense reimbursement. This role oversees the analysis, preparation and reporting of GAAP compliant company financial data, while maintaining a system of accounting records and a set of controls designed to mitigate risk and to enhance the accuracy of the company’s financial statements. The role is responsible for the preparation of treasury cash forecasting needs and cash flow analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the consolidation of the AR/AP function to the main office from half a dozen current AR/AP centers.
- Directs and oversees the daily accounting operations of the AP, AR and expense reimbursement including review of payment disbursements, cash collection targets and expense reports
- Assists in the design and implementation of processes improvements, including standardization, enhancements and potential automation of existing processes and systems. Promotes best practices over financial and non-financial information across the accounting organization
- Leads, mentors, and ensures engagement of direct reports and their respective teams and work to establish short-and long-range goals and objectives for both the function and the employees
- Using industry standards, builds and owns dynamic reporting and KPI metrics for accounts receivable, accounts payable and employee expense reimbursement functions that will identify opportunities and enhance visibility for business strategies
- Maintains a forecast of cash inflows and outflows and provides recommendations on cash transfer activity to maintain liquidity and preserves investing ability
- Oversees the accounting operations (including review of revenue transactions and close packages) of our acquisitions and manages the integration of processes to the corporate headquarters
- Manages or assists as necessary the master data elements for vendors and customers, including credit lines, payment terms and banking information
- Manages the shared service and related cross functional deliverables for our external and internal audit partners
- Collaborates with cross-functional leaders across commercial operations, supply chain, information technology and human resources to develop, enhance and monitor key upstream process flows and operations to ensure accurate and timely data submissions to Finance functions and other varying business initiatives
- Supports financial compliance requirements, including the SOX 404 program and internal and external audits (US GAAP, bank and statutory, as appropriate) as well as any internal or external reporting deliverables
Qualification & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required.
- 5-8 years of accounting experience overseeing shared service functions, using a mid-sized to large ERP system
- Detail oriented with the ability to investigate and resolve problems
- Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data
- Knowledge of personal computer databases and spreadsheets
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Effective organizational skills
- Ability to work well as part of a high performing team, as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA license a plus
- Acumatica system experience
