Description
McKesson is seeking a results-driven individual to join our team as a Project Manager within our Financial Services and Solutions (FSS) PMO team. In this role, you will lead the delivery of products or programs from the design process to the final state for internal and external customers. As a Project Manager, you will serve as a liaison between the business area we support, IT, vendors, and operations, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
This position is located in a matrix type organization, where the position does not have direct responsibility for resources and systems development, but has overall project management responsibility.
This position reports to the Project Management Director.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Lead the planning, execution and successful delivery of highly complex programs within FSS, such as technology implementations and transformations.
- Ensure adherence to project objectives, timelines and budget, primarily supporting the business to maintain focus on high priority capabilities and managing scope expansion with a rigorous strategic approach.
- Coordinate and manage multiple vendors and stakeholders to ensure delivery on time, on budget and to agreed quality standards.
- Prepare regular project status reports, provide progress updates to stakeholders, lead SteerCo meetings, and maintain project documentation and artifacts as needed.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses and ensure profitability throughout the project lifecycle by guiding the business towards effective prioritization.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing issues that may affect project success.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and best practices, driving effectiveness and efficiency in project delivery.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration and working relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

- Ability to absorb and process large amounts of disparate information, synthesize it quickly, and make connections between different work streams when appropriate.
- Strong interpersonal and consultation skills – ability to assess needs, collaborate and provide practical solutions that produce results; an excellent listener who seeks to understand multiple points of view; effective in influencing, facilitating and problem-solving.
- Ability to adapt communication style to work well with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Help build strong, trusting relationships across multiple teams and departments and collaborate with business leaders to execute plans.
Change Leadership
- Champion change to ensure adoption of solutions across the organization.
- Act as change manager, if none is assigned to the program.
Qualification & Requirements
Skills Required
- Experience in project delivery including initiation, documentation, prioritization, monitoring and implementation of projects and process changes.
- Deep understanding of project management and strong financial business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and gain commitment at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to understand and identify links between specific projects and key strategic objectives.
- Ability to think, organize and lead multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to facilitate and communicate effectively in a hybrid environment.
- Expert verbal/written communication skills in English.
Additional Skills
- Experience leading or managing small matrix teams and experience leading projects across functional boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to influence with limited authority.
- Resourceful with an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.
Degree, certification and experience
- Degree, or equivalent, generally requiring more than 7 years of relevant experience.
- Project Management Institute (PMP) and/or Lean/Six Sigma (black belt) certification is an asset.
The incumbent of this position will have to support internal and/or external clients outside of Quebec and/or the United States on a daily basis. Consequently, this position requires fluency in written and spoken English. Please note that the number of positions whose tasks require knowledge of the English language has been limited as much as possible.
