Description

The Senior Project Manager will provide project management support including, creating change requests, engineering work packets, project planning and estimating, project scheduling, project monitoring and performance reporting, and sub-contractor coordination to a medium sized, complex program that is overall responsible for managing the operations/facility of a government data center. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple projects with varying scope, complexity, and customer relationships at various stages of each project. Projects may range in size from smaller scope requests ($1K+) to larger ($1M+) more complex projects. Project risks may vary from low risks to higher risk projects depending on the requirements outlined in the project by the customer or the project sponsor. The project manager will be accountable for the schedule and cost performance of these projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with Customers to understand project requirements and manage customer expectations.
  • Interact with project management team and functional department managers to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost estimates, DEMAND Labor requirements, and identify any variances in schedule.
  • Write Project Implementation Plans to include Project Scope, Schedule, and Cost Estimates based on input provided by the Project Management Team and Functional Department Managers.
  • Prepare bid packages, estimates and analysis of subcontractor proposals for projects of any size and complexity.
  • Assist to set up tasks and sub tasks to ensure project requirements are met as scheduled.
  • Interact with customer and project management team to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around.
  • Compile reports and distribute to internal and external customers status reports.
  • The PM will develop, document, and monitor project plans, communicate status, milestones, and issues to the Program Manager and customer team.
  • Work with Procurement team, NCCIPS Managers, and other PMs to define and coordinate sub-contractor responsibilities to ensure contractual requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics Teams to ensure that the necessary materials are purchased and received as outlined within the project scope. Coordinate with functional managers to ensure that the materials are made available for resources as required to finalize the scope of each project.
  • Other duties, as assigned within the scope of a Project Manager, Customer Service Relations, Project Scheduler or Project Administration.

Qualification & Requirements

Required Education

  • Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Applicants may substitute experience in lieu of degree. 5+ years’ experience in the areas of project management, business administration, finance, analyst for government projects, or related experience and/or training are preferred.
  • Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office Products to include Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a large and varied community of stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of processes and how it impacts business operations efficiency and project success.
  • Detail-Oriented.
  • Ability to apply existing knowledge and experience to analyze/evaluate data, handle problems of a moderate to diverse scope.
  • The candidate must be a self-starter, a team player, and a team builder.
  • PMP Certification is a plus but not required.
  • ITIL Foundation (v3/v4) is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and online content management is a plus but not required.

Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and must be able to obtain a DOD Interim Secret clearance prior to employment. Continued employment is contingent that the employee obtains and maintains a full Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time.

  • Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Secret
