Senior Manager – Service Line and Function KM

Key Responsibilities

Leadership of the INDUS SLFN KM group: 60%

  • Provide leadership oversight to the INDUS SLFN KM group (INDUS KM teams supporting Advisory, Tax, Audit, Growth and People & Culture), build a strong sense of community, ensure that the group aligns to strategy, and practices HABU (highest and best use) of individuals.
  • Reporting and coaching responsibilities for INDUS SLFN KM team leaders.
  • Co-develop a KM strategy for the INDUS SLFN KM group ensuring alignment with the National KM priorities and the priorities for the respective customers. Work closely with key stakeholders, including: the KM leadership team, KM champions from SLFn groups, and the INDUS SLFN KM team leads.
  • Champion best practices and sharing of lessons learned across the SL and Function KM teams, drive operational efficiencies and encourage talent mobility within the INDUS SLFN KM group.
  • Provide stewardship on budget and for operational metrics set by the NKM (US and INDUS) leadership.
  • Drive adoption of leading KM practices as well as encourage innovative approaches to surface from within the group. Develop business cases and helps others in the team to articulate business cases for various continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Retaining talent through an ecosystem of quality coach-coachee conversations and mentoring.
  • Drive talent acquisition efforts by attracting and hiring top talent. Build and nurture a talent pipeline in the local talent market for all major roles in the team.
  • Grow selected team members into full-fledged INDUS-based knowledge manager roles aligned to key customer areas based on business needs.

For the remainder of the 40% capacity, the selected candidate will perform at least one of the two roles mentioned below.

  • Serve as a Knowledge Manager for one of the major business areas
  • As Knowledge Manager for one of the major SLFn business area, act as a strategic knowledge advisor, create and lead the development of a structured KM plan and execute the KM plan to achieve business priorities.
  • Team leader responsibilities for one of the INDUS KM teams
  • Directly manage one of the INDUS KM team to ensure delivery of KM projects is managed effectively, work is delivered on-time and with high quality, and workloads are balanced appropriately across the team.
  • Oversee strategic and executive relationships within aligned business units and the INDUS practice.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Expert level understanding of knowledge management principles and methodologies in a professional services firm, including knowledge harvesting, taxonomy and metadata, and community management.
  • Strong program and project management skills for managing service delivery for self and teams.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Help set up and drive PMO standards for the INDUS SLFN KM group. Anticipate risks and challenges around service delivery and develop and implement satisfactory mitigation plans.
  • Operational expertise – understand operations and how to drive performance through strong leadership focused on employee engagement as well as delivery.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills – ability to look at problems and datasets from multiple perspectives to find innovative and simple solutions.
  • Ability to take what is available and build on it; it is not a problem, it is a challenge.
  • Training and development acumen: a track record of providing training and guidance to others in process and technology related aspects.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels including leadership in a globally diverse environment.
  • Clear attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high level of data fluency.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Understanding/experience on Agile Methodology will be an added advantage.
