Senior Manager – RTR

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting activities placed in the center across all brands globally
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations performed by center teams; ensure timeliness and accuracy of the overall monthly close activities as performed by the center teams; provide support on both statutory and US financial audits and requests from internal and external auditors
  • Support and provide oversight to the accounting team with the monthly (quarterly, annual) closing process, review a specific area or team and take ownership for their performance
  • Responsible for cross-functional accounting activities globally/across brands (e.g. fixed assets, intercompany, lease accounting, corporate accounting). Additional functions to be added over time.
  • Take full ownership and responsibility of the accounting for a defined set of functions stretching across multiple brands globally, in accordance with US GAAP, local GAAP and compliance with both internal and external requirements
  • Manage the balance sheet and profit and loss for the global functions and associated analysis
  • Responsible for monthly closing reports, variance analysis and reconciliations for global functions in accordance with US GAAP and covering the Sox framework, and own the compliance aspect regarding this
  • Provide excellent customer service to business stakeholders including addressing and resolving queries escalated by both on & offshore teams in a timely manner
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders within Finance and across the brands
  • Sign off on the regular and timely preparation of all required financial reports and schedules for defined brands/functions.
  • Guide the team in handling and solving complex bottlenecks and issues, for all matters impacting accounting. Own final issue resolution for items with potential global impact.
  • Serve as business partner by maintaining in-depth knowledge of the industry and accounting policies & principles
  • Develop and review monthly metrics/KPIs with business process owners and business stakeholders, to improve processes and resolve issues. Proactively identify opportunities to expand scope of services which lead to global efficiency
  • Preparation of center productivity, result reports and procedures, and the presentation of findings and specific recommendations to Senior Management across the Company/Brands
  • Be responsible for the timely delivery and the integrity of the internal and/or external financial reporting.
  • Manage footnote information for SEC filings, as well as information for local statutory filings
  • Produce finance-related reports for Senior Management and for Head Office and overseas regulators where applicable. Liaise with the regulatory authorities and maintain good relations with them. May be involved in the budgeting and financial strategy process
  • Oversee PTP, OTC and GBS resources being placed into the center
  • Work alongside R2R Global Process Owner to champion process efficiencies, to develop new accounting procedures; align both on & offshore teams & processes to support the strategic goals of the center and the company, and to drive efficiencies in the organization
  • Collaborate within and across organization on key company-wide initiatives and to support the Finance transformation roadmap (people, process, technology)
  • Drive the Transformation Agenda delivering efficiency and effectiveness in the operations
  • Manage the transition of new processes from business units into the center and GBS for a successful transition. Identify organizational and/or project needs and make appropriate resource allocations to support business goals
  • Oversee all applicable SOX documentation, compliance and provide audit support to both internal and external auditors
  • Ensure adherence for a defined set of functions all compliance requirements including Sox, tax, statutory and statistical filings and statutory audits are met to fullest satisfaction
  • Successfully identify strategic opportunities and recommendations for optimization of center operations
  • Setting strategic priorities for the process together with the global Process Owner for Record to Report
  • Driving continuous improvement/harmonization and standardization, measuring of output process and input quality to achieve best-in-class performance
  • Manage a team of people managers and drive operations, engagement and development within a large team located in diverse worldwide locations (BHI, Brands, COE).
  • Develop, coach, and manage staff into mature financial advisors with a customer service orientation toward the dependent process owners and business stakeholders

Qualification & Requirements

  • Experience running finance operations in a shared-service center with minimum 16 or above years of experience
  • Project management and/or transformation experience required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, rapidly growing and fluid organization.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at various levels of the organization tailored appropriately to the audience.
  • Candidate should demonstrate effective collaboration skills up, down and across the organization.
  • Maintain effectiveness in continually evolving environment. Manage ambiguity with a positive attitude especially with the team
  • Strong people management and can chorale the group with enthusiasm
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and SOx
  • Experience with SAP is required.
  • Experience with Blackline required, OneStream or Hyperion Financial Management is a plus.
