Description

The Senior Manager, Global Transparency Operations is part of the Global Payment Transparency team responsible for fulfilling AstraZeneca’s external payment disclosure obligations across the United States (US), Europe, Latin America, and international countries with emerging transparency requirements. This role is within the Compliance and Legal Services of the Global Business Shared Services organization, aligned to Finance.

Senior Manager, Global Payment Transparency

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of reporting requirements across various country’s disclosure obligations to support and address basic inquiries from internal and external customers
  • Compile various payment transparency disclosure reports across AstraZeneca with a focus on the United States and Asia Pacific regions in required localized formats within predefined timelines to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Complete data reconciliation efforts and quality checks in partnership with local market contacts to monitor completeness and accuracy of reports throughout the year
  • Partner with GPT Team Leaders in developing and implementing the overall organization’s Global Payment Transparency strategy
  • Serve as subject matter expert in understanding, using, and integrating the global payment transparency system
  • Serve as point of contact to activity owners, business process partners, internal and external suppliers relative to payment and transparency reporting processes and procedures
  • Partner with internal and external collaborators to implement a consistent approach to data collection and compilation of payment transparency data across US, Europe, and International markets
  • Respond and support queries from management and key partners as needed
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and other system enhancements aimed at improving processes across the team and overall data quality
  • Support internal and external audits of payment transparency data, e.g., Internal Audit, Compliance, as necessary
  • Support driving and embedding a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Participate in policy meetings and training on an as-needed basis

Project Management Component:

  • Provide support including but not limited to internal and external communication and training programs, project planning, development and tracking, intranet sites
  • Manage collation and analysis of business information, consolidation, and maintenance of up-to-date procedural documentation
  • May be asked to support or lead initiatives around MDM management and cleansing, disputes and resolutions, pre-disclosure, vendor training, and audit remediation
  • Support monitoring of progress of initiatives and work streams through scorecards and metrics
  • Liaise appropriately and proactively coordinate with key collaborators to deliver assigned responsibilities

Qualification & Requirements

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field of study
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP, purchase to pay systems/processes, Procurement
  • 3 plus years of experience in contract management
  • Experience in finance, auditing, quality assurance/control, SOX and/or risk management
  • Understanding of payment transparency principles
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle competing projects simultaneously
  • Strong ethical, collaborative, and influencing skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Advanced use of Excel data

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Additional certifications (e.g., CPA)
  • Experience in or with the biopharmaceutical industry or a consulting firm working with pharmaceutical clients
  • Demonstrates a thorough level of knowledge of accounting processes and/or financial reporting
  • Experience with providing data quality control/assurance
  • Understanding of Research and Development (R&D) and/or pharmaceutical commercial operations
  • Working knowledge of/experience with payment transparency requirements in Australia, the US (Open Payments or formerly Sunshine Act), and Latin America countries
  • Global/cross-cultural experience
