Senior Manager – Finance & Accounting

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the key financial processes and control environment
  • Ensuring a timely and accurate set of accounts are delivered each period
  • The area is well controlled and the related balance sheet is fully understood and reconciled
  • Ensure clear 2 way communication with the other areas of finance and the business to ensure the financial results are accurate and understood by all parties

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Run the financial processes including month end closing and reporting balance sheet reconciliations P L review
  • Accrual and Prepayment posting
  • Deep understanding accounting standards
  • Understanding and reconciling the related balance sheet accounts
  • Good understanding of retail business
  • Good knowledge of banking intercompany and fixed asset
  • Understanding on preparing balance sheet budget
  • Deliver process improvement to standardise processes across the brands and the various areas
  • Budgeting and Forecasting support these key processes as required in particular through provision of actual costs and balances with insights into key drivers and movements
  • Variance Analysis to compare budget vs actual and forecast vs actual and provide commentary on the material variances

Qualification & Requirements

  • The role will manage multiple senior stakeholders and be challenging where required
  • The ideal candidate should be proficient with numbers and have an accounting background particularly with detail to cash books and bank reconciliations banking experience and use of payments systems
  • He must be able to meet daily monthly deadlines
  • The systemic knowledge of various systems and accounting packages is necessary
  • Flexibility and analytical skills will be required to take on more complex assignments and also work more independently

JOB HOLDER SPECIFICATION

  • Academic and Professional Exposure
  • Accounting graduate Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant preferrable
  • Experience in Shared Service Organization

Technical skills

  • Thorough knowledge of Finance and Treasury systems
  • ERP like SAP exposure
  • Good MS Office knowledge and advanced Excel skills
  • Good accounting skills with an eye for detail and have exposure of working as an individual contributor
  • Team management experience

Personal skills

  • Advanced level of English strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Written and Verbal Communication Skills able to tell a complex story in a compelling manner via all means of communication
  • Stakeholder Management Manage and influence senior stakeholders Advanced
  • Accounting and Financial Management Apply financial knowledge to commercial and operational areas and explain clearly
