Description

Associate Director Site Supply Chain Management (SCM) & Procurement will be responsible for the setup of logistics operations managing vendor selection, on-time sourcing of raw materials, equipment and services for producing pharmaceutical products, in compliance with BioNTech’s Procurement Policies. The role will also provide crucial support in optimizing the supply chain strategy of raw materials, inventory management, planning and coordinating the site processes to and from production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee supply chain logistics and distribution for the site, ensuring timely and cost-effective operations.
  • Improving the company’s cost base and ownership supply chain/logistic cost.
  • Ensure production and operational requirements and aligned to procurement strategies.
  • Master production/annual planning in close coordination with global network planning
  • Production planning and scheduling together with manufacturing, Quality and departments involved
  • Coordination and operational logistic from goods receipt to production point of use and outbound management
  • Collaborate with other sites to coordinate secondary production activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, QA, Eng, QC, R&D) to ensure supply chain and procurement needs are met during operational ramp-up.
  • Ensure the Supply Chain Tech Transfer for the receiving site.
  • Ensure all necessary inventory management systems are in place including master recipes, process orders and production plans etc
  • Establish and implement local guidelines and SOPs and ensure training on site
  • Ensure regulatory and GMP compliance in all procurement and logistics activities.
  • Inventory maintenance/analysis, coordination of provisions with division management and the finance department.
  • Efficient management of local inventory and reordering products as needed to maintain sufficient inventory levels either locally or within network
  • Forward planning for all raw materials, supplies, services and consumables for quality control and production to the point of use
  • Responsible for Source-to-Pay process and Procure-to-Pay aspects for sourcing, procuring and ordering materials, equipment and services, for both Capex and Opex budgets, in compliance with the BioNTech Procurement policies and processes
  • Collaborate with other Local and Global team members to ensure optimal pricing and service levels from suppliers through a well-managed Supplier Relationship Management process

Qualification & Requirements

  • University degree in relevant field (desired)
  • +5 years of relevant experience
  • Regulatory and legal requirements experience
  • Working knowledge of relevant local and international regulations
  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management within the biopharma industry.
  • Strong background in vendor management and contract negotiations.
  • Knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements in procurement and logistics.
  • Pronounced team & communication skills; Ability to be agile and effectively collaborate in a dynamic, cross-functional environment; Strong cross-cultural experience in leading position
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Finance, QA, Eng, QC, and R&D teams
