Description
The newly created role of Senior Director of Country HR in Lithuania is responsible for leading People strategies across Vinted hubs, with a strong focus on people operations, employee engagement, employee relations, and compliance. This role ensures that People policies and practices align with both business objectives and labor laws while fostering a positive workplace culture.
This role acts as the lead for our Country People function (managing all Country Managers across Europe – currently anticipated to be 3) and acts as the Country People Leader of Lithuania (Vinted Headquarters in Vilnius and the Kaunas office) and will manage the team of local People advisors.
This role works in close partnership with Senior People Business Partners to ensure consistency in People service delivery across business functions as well as the CoEs who provide the infrastructure for the People function.
As a member of the Global People Leadership Team, the incumbent will be expected to take an active role in helping to shape the global People strategy at Vinted.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and consistency of People operations, policies, and procedures across all Vinted business units, ensuring compliance with Lithuanian labor laws and corporate governance standards
- Collaborate with People Operations and Shared Service Centre (SSC) teams to optimise processes and service delivery. Design scalable frameworks to enhance operational efficiency
- Analyse People metrics related to engagement, employee relations, and compliance, leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement and inform high-impact, data-driven decisions
- Ensure compliance with employment laws across multiple locations in conjunction with Country People Managers and partnering with Legal to address complex employee relations and labor law matters
- Stay updated on legislative changes and advise Senior Leadership on necessary policy adaptations, balancing short-term operational needs with long-term business direction
- Act as the key advisor on employee relations in Lithuania, ensuring fair and legally compliant resolutions; act as the primary interface with the Works Councils in Lithuania
- Guide Country HR Managers and business Leaders on handling grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions, while ensuring consistent policy application across all business units
- Mediate high-level workplace conflicts and coach Leaders on conflict resolution best practices
- Maintain strong relationships with labor unions, works councils, and government regulatory bodies, representing Vinted where required
- Develop long-term strategies to enhance workplace culture, retention, and performance, ensuring employee engagement initiatives align with business goals over a 2–3 year horizon
- Collaborate with Senior PBPs to ensure alignment of people initiatives with business needs. Utilising engagement surveys, feedback, and People analytics to create action plans that drive improvements in employee experience
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Country People Managers and local People teams, providing strategic direction and enabling them to take ownership of key initiatives
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives and well-being programs, embedding them into Vinted’s broader People strategy
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, or a related field
- Significant HR leadership experience in an international environment, with a strong focus on employee relations, engagement and compliance.
- Proven experience managing Country HR Managers across multiple locations
- Deep understanding of Lithuanian labor laws, employment regulations, and HR compliance best practices
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively alongside Senior HRBPs and business leaders
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Fluency in Lithuanian and English
