Reporting to the VP, Global Business Excellence, you’ll partner directly with Avalara’s executive leadership team to take bold ideas from strategy to execution. You’ll lead a global team of transformation leaders, automation specialists, and analysts, turning complex challenges into scalable solutions that deliver measurable impact for customers, partners, and the business.

Senior Director, Customer and Business Transformation (Global Business Services)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide business transformation programs that align Avalara’s strategic goals with executional outcomes.
  • Translate Avalara’s priorities into actionable initiatives with measurable ROI.
  • Partner with senior executives to embed AI, automation, and analytics into global operations.
  • Lead and inspire a 60–75 person team of transformation leaders, automation specialists, and analysts across the U.S., UK, and India.
  • Deliver executive-level storytelling through data, influencing decisions at VP and C-suite levels.
  • Provide governance, metrics, and transparency on transformation outcomes.

Qualification & Requirements

  • 15+ years in business transformation or strategy leadership.
  • Proven success leading strategic change at scale in SaaS, FinTech, or global enterprises.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence at C-level.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, process improvement, and automation preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical fluency with KPIs, metrics, and business intelligence platforms.
