Description

The officer will assist Director Corporate Group Planning (CGP) Directorate in the planning, solutioning, coordination and operationalisation of current and long-term operations and strategic initiatives, to ensure Corporate Group enhances effectiveness and efficiency in its delivery of corporate services to the whole of A*STAR.

Senior Assistant Director/Assistant Director, Planning, Corporate Group Directorate

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualising, planning, coordinating and operationalising key near-term business initiatives and mid / long-term strategic projects with Corporate Group Divisions and other stakeholders to facilitate the achievement of Corporate Group’s aims and objectives;
  • Driving Corporate Group’s annual strategic planning exercise including strategy sessions, work plans and deliverables;
  • Leading organisational transformation across Corporate Group, focusing on people development, digitalisation and innovation, collaboration and client-centricity, with the aim to build a professional team that achieves impactful outcomes for A*STAR;
  • Reviewing broad policy issues spanning across and /or between the Corporate Group Divisions, including benchmarking of A*STAR’s practices against best practices in the public and private sectors, and formulating clear strategies and policy papers that meet the current and future needs of Corporate Group and its stakeholders;
  • Bridging within and outside of Corporate Group by working closely with internal stakeholders, including Divisional Group Directors and Directors, to understand different views, drive conversations and influence outcomes towards a common goal; and
  • Managing complex work task planning and distribution initiatives, adjusting plans in response to changing organisational needs and national priorities, and where required, lead key initiatives to devise and implement action plans.

Qualification & Requirements

The incumbent is expected to be a confident and mature individual who is able to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of staff. The officer must also demonstrate high levels of initiative and creativity, be able to think out of the box, have a strong analytical mind, good writing skills and possess organisational and problem-solving skills.
