Description

We’re looking for an experienced Product Director to lead Multiverse tech teams through our next phase of growth. This is a critical leadership role for a systems thinker with a keen eye for scalability, who thrives on building foundational solutions that power multiple products and a diverse range of user experiences.

You’ll be instrumental in developing shared functionality and core platform capabilities that are adopted by numerous teams across our tech organisation and help Multiverse unlock its next stage of growth! If you enjoy working in a dynamic environment, building for technical audiences, and are comfortable delving into complex technical conversations around developer experience (Dx) and infrastructure, this is the role for you. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our products meet the enterprise-level requirements of large organisations, driving efficiency and innovation from within.

Product Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product strategy for core platform components and shared services, ensuring they meet the needs of various internal consumer teams and contribute to enterprise-grade solutions.
  • Lead the development of scalable, reusable functionality and domain-specific engineering solutions that can be leveraged across multiple products and touchpoints.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and data teams on technical features, infrastructure, and developer experience initiatives, ensuring a deep understanding of technical considerations.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal product teams, understanding their needs and advocating for platform capabilities that accelerate their development velocity and product quality.
  • Establish clear metrics and success criteria for platform products, continuously monitoring performance and identifying areas for improvement and expansion.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the organization to align the platform roadmap with overall business objectives and enterprise requirements.
  • Champion a culture of internal product excellence, focusing on usability, documentation, and adoption for technical users.

Qualification & Requirements

About you

  • Significant experience leading product strategy for platforms or shared services in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve and innovation is valued.
  • A demonstrable track record of building scalable solutions for complex software platforms
  • Experience in designing and delivering shared functionality or “domain engineering” solutions used across multiple product lines and teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a platform team <> consumer team dynamic, with a focus on internal enablement rather than solely external customer features.
  • Understanding of developer experience (Dx) and infrastructure concepts, with the ability to engage in technical discussions and drive technical product initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing and collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with modern microservices architectures, event-driven architecture, and API-first product development.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with specific enterprise-level compliance or security requirements.
  • A background in engineering or a technical discipline.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of product managers focused on platform or internal tools.
  • Built products, services, or solutions where the primary end-users are technical audiences or developers, both internal and customer-facing (APIs, SDKs, etc)

Benefits

  • Time off – 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company-wide wellbeing days (M-Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year
  • Health & Wellness– private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill – all in one mental health support
  • Hybrid work offering – we collaborate in the office 3 days per week
  • Work-from-anywhere scheme – you’ll have the opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year
  • Team fun – weekly socials, company-wide events and office snacks!
