Description

This leadership role manages the design and implementation of compensation and benefits programs aligned with organizational goals. The position ensures compliance, competitiveness, and internal equity while advising leadership and supporting HR operations.

Manager, Total Compensation and Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the evaluation and management of employee salary structures and incentive programs.
  • Manage benefit programs and vendor relationships.
  • Provide coaching and expertise to HR colleagues on compensation and benefits practices.
  • Lead projects related to total rewards and HRIS improvements.
  • Monitor compliance with legislative requirements related to compensation and benefits.
  • Act as a liaison between HR, Finance, and executive leadership on strategic pay and benefit decisions.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualification & Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in compensation and benefits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification in compensation (e.g., CCP) is a strong asset.
  • Experience with HR systems (e.g., PeopleSoft or similar).
  • Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working alongside First Nations, Inuit, or Métis communities, or in support of businesses, organizations or initiatives that are led by Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Inuit or Métis) is considered a strong asset.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CCP, CBP, or CEBS are preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft.
  • Experience working in both union and non-union environments.
  • Previous experience with benefit and pension program analysis.
