The Connect & Shared Services Product & Platform team is part of Mastercard’s Open Banking division and brings to life our vision of empowering consumers to benefit from their own financial data. The Manager, Product Management – Technical will lead a group of Product Owners within the Shared Services Platform team and will be responsible for the overall product development of the platform. This role will report to the Vice President of Product Management – Connect & Shared Services Platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting the vision and direction for sets of features
  • Leading individual contributors who are conceptualizing the one-to-two year view of how the platform product portfolio solves business and customer needs
  • Exhibiting expertise across multiple platform products and builds tight connections to resources to drive overall strategy and teams inside your organization while influencing those outside your organization to deliver the expected results
  • Diving deep into the work of you team and identify short-and-medium-term risks to platform product development and segment adoption, while proposing solutions to address them
  • Continuously monitoring feature development and associated defects at the platform product level as well as runtime operational metrics for in market capabilities
  • Developing and communicates team vision that supports the broader organizational vision
  • Making trade-off decisions as required and contributing to organizational planning
  • Managing escalations, assess the alternative to resolve (path to green) and builds a plan for resolution
  • Engaging with product manager to identify key platform product issues; solicits feedback on platform product roadmap
  • Leveraging data analysis skills to research difficult or ambiguous problems, leading cross-disciplinary teams where necessary and communicating recommendations to senior leadership
  • Overseeing team-wide product operations, leads junior Product Owners who may own individual components, and coordinates team-wide improvement goals

Qualification & Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in product management and/or product development with 2-3 years of experience managing a team.
  • Knowledge of Open Banking, Consumer Payments, Payments in general is a plus.
  • Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred along with highly developed multi-cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work with globally diverse team across different time zones
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate several complex workstreams with multiple stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently (and with ambiguity) while operating within a team environment
  • Ability to challenge established views and assumptions at all levels and facilitate/lead discussions & debates
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
  • Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior management and business partners
  • Strong oral & written communication and presentation skills, including communicating thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in oral and written form
  • Excellent listening skills and facilitating /guiding senior executives/colleagues
  • Experience leading /motivating and managing teams and mentoring other colleagues
  • Undergraduate degree with 10+ years of experience. MBA preferred
