Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Operations professional to join our finance team. The Manager of Accounting Operations will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring that accounting processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with company policies and regulations. This role will involve leading a team of accounting professionals, collaborating with cross-functional departments, and providing guidance on accounting processes, systems, and controls. The Manager of Accounting Operations will also support month-end close processes, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations Management:
- Supervise and manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles I GAAP, INDAS, USGAAP, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Lead initiatives to implement new accounting systems or improve existing ones.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline business processes and enhance data flow.
Team Leadership
- Manage, train, and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and foster professional development within the team.
- Promote a positive and collaborative team culture that aligns with the company’s values and objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, Operations, HR) to address financial questions, concerns, or discrepancies.
- Act as a point of contact for financial and operational issues that may require cross-functional collaboration or resolution
Reporting & Analysis
- Provide regular performance reports, including key metrics, trends, and financial analysis to management.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting requests and analysis as needed.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, preferably with shared service setup with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles US GAAP, I GAAP, INDAS, IFRS financial reporting, and internal control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.)
