Description

The IT Operations Management 6 – GMN Integration Lead department in the Shared Service Operation–Central Operations division is responsible for coordinating and fulfilling deliveries and services in the area of ​​the Bundeswehr’s military IT contracts with the BWI, which require a high level of security.

Lead System Engineer German Mission Network

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical management of installations on deployable data centers for operational IT, taking into account the specifications and guidelines for GMN
  • Administration and processing of system maintenance services GMN as well as analysis of faults including participation in their elimination
  • Preparation of documents and reports as well as responsibility for management-oriented communication and reporting
  • Participation in support services in GMN projects and installation projects
  • Continuous testing and, if necessary, adaptation and application of new procedures, methods and instruments

Qualification & Requirements

  • Completed training or studies in the IT environment
  • Approximately 7 years of professional experience in the IT sector as well as technical management and project experience, ideally in the customer environment of the German Armed Forces
  • Extensive, broad administrative experience and knowledge of operating systems and distributed applications
  • Very good knowledge of common IT technologies and infrastructures as well as a good understanding of complex technical contexts
  • Initiative, willingness to change, decision-making and assertiveness skills as well as innovative thinking
  • Fluent German and confident English skills, both written and spoken, and willingness to travel
