Based at Fortress Shared Services Sdn Bhd — the HQ of SGX-listed Fortress Minerals Limited — you’ll oversee systems and support for HQ and mining operations, with active expansion into ASEAN, and potential operations in Australia and the Pacific.

IT Manager – Build & Lead Regional Tech Foundations

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure across HQ and remote mining sites.
  • Manage on-premise servers, firewalls, backups, and endpoint devices (~170 total).
  • Administer Microsoft 365 (user access, licensing, and security controls).
  • Ensure network reliability and secure remote access for multi-site operations.
  • Support planning and future transition to cloud-based infrastructure and systems.

IT Governance & Compliance

  • Draft and implement group-wide IT policies (e.g. PDPA, BYOD, access control, data retention, CCTV).
  • Support regulatory compliance in Malaysia and Singapore, and potentially also in the Philippines (DPA) and Australia (APPs).
  • Conduct risk assessments, access reviews, and enforce cybersecurity best practices.

Monitoring, Automation & Asset Management

  • Plan and roll out IT Asset Management (ITAM) practices — custom or tool-based (e.g., PowerApps).
  • Develop and deploy scripts or monitoring tools to track system health, uptime, and asset usage.
  • Maintain proper IT documentation including network diagrams, system configs, and SOPs.

Vendor & Project Coordination

  • Work with third-party vendors and IT support providers (e.g., Ezytronic) to resolve incidents, manage upgrades, and procure equipment.
  • Lead or support IT-related projects including infrastructure rollouts, automation pilots, and new system implementation.
  • Manage external service providers, including those handling the company website, hosting, and other third-party platforms.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure alignment with IT and business objectives.

Strategy & Team Scaling

  • Advise leadership on IT roadmap, system improvements, and security posture.
  • Plan for future team expansion, including hiring, delegation, and regional IT support structure.
  • Align IT growth with business expansion into ASEAN, Australia, and the Pacific.

Qualification & Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or network management.
  • Strong hands-on skills with Microsoft 365, on-premise servers, remote access tools, and firewalls.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or industrial/remote locations preferred.
  • Exposure to policy creation, compliance standards, or IT governance frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently and scale systems across regions.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Certifications (not required):

  • Microsoft 365 Admin / ITIL Foundation / Network+ / Security+
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or Azure Administrator Associate
  • ISO/IEC 27001 Foundation or Lead Implementer
  • PDPA or data protection training (MY/SG/PH)
  • Familiarity with ERP environments is a plus
