Description

The HR Shared Services Center Director – Americas will lead the strategic and operational direction of the HR Shared Services organization across North and Latin America. This senior role is accountable for delivering seamless, compliant, and high-quality HR services, with a strong emphasis on payroll governance, process optimization, and employee experience.

The Director will oversee multi-country HR operations—including payroll, HRIS, benefits administration, employee data management, onboarding/offboarding, and compliance—while driving transformation initiatives to standardize, digitize, and scale services in alignment with global HR strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the HR Shared Services strategy for the Americas region, ensuring alignment with global HR goals and business priorities.
  • Define performance metrics (SLAs, KPIs) to ensure service excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement across all HR processes.
  • Identify and drive transformation initiatives that enhance service delivery, reduce complexity, and leverage technology effectively.

Payroll and Compliance Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations across multiple countries in the Americas, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local tax and labor regulations.
  • Collaborate with Finance and external vendors to maintain strong payroll governance and audit readiness.
  • Oversee integration of payroll data with HRIS and other business systems to ensure data integrity and reporting consistency.
  • Stay current with evolving employment laws and regulatory requirements across all supported countries.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee HR Service Delivery for the Americas, ensuring standardized processes, scalability, and a consistent employee experience.
  • Manage key HR systems, driving digitalization and self-service adoption.
  • Build and manage vendor relationships, ensuring contractual compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with IT and global HR teams to optimize workflows and enable automation (RPA, chatbots, AI-driven analytics).

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of HR operations and payroll professionals across multiple locations in the Americas.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
  • Build leadership capability within the team, ensuring succession planning and ongoing skills development.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and workforce planning for the HR Shared Services organization.

Qualification & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of HR Shared Services Center leadership experience, with proven success managing multi-country operations in the Americas region.
  • Strong background in payroll operations and compliance, including vendor management and process integration.
  • Demonstrated experience driving HR transformation, process reengineering, and digital HR solutions in global or matrixed organizations.
  • Proven success leading large, diverse teams and managing change across complex environments

Skills and Competencies

  • Deep expertise in HR operations, payroll governance, and regional compliance.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on operational excellence and service innovation.
  • Strong understanding of HR technology ecosystems.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish and/or Portuguese strongly preferred.
