HR Director (food industry)

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the company’s business objectives, focusing on talent acquisition, performance management, employee development, and retention.

Talent Management:

  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top talent for shared services roles.
  • Design and implement workforce planning strategies to ensure the right talent is in place for current and future needs.
  • Drive leadership development programs, succession planning, and employee career growth initiatives.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees regarding HR policies, conflict resolution, and employee relations issues.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure competitive compensation structures that attract and retain talent while maintaining budget controls.
  • Advise on benefits offerings, including healthcare, retirement, and wellness programs.

HR Operations & Compliance:

  • Monitor and improve HR processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure HR compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Manage HR data and reporting systems, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for business analysis and decision-making.

Employee Engagement & Culture:

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives that align with company values and foster a positive work environment.
  • Develop and execute programs aimed at increasing employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across all levels of the organization.

Training & Development:

  • Oversee the creation and delivery of training programs designed to develop skills, leadership capabilities, and operational efficiency within the shared services function. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and ensure continuous improvement.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within shared services or multi-functional HR environments.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and employee relations. Proven experience in organizational development, talent management, and employee engagement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus.
