Description

The Director, Human Resources APJ will provide strategic guidance and leadership to the Regional Sales business unit, ensuring the delivery of all HR services to drive outstanding business performance. This role involves partnering closely with senior business leaders to drive the people agenda, consult on critical talent decisions, and achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic and trusted advisor to senior leadership, aligning HR strategies with organizational goals and contributing to organizational development efforts.
  • Lead and develop a team of HR Business Partners, enabling them to drive results based on business goals and strategies by defining and executing specific people-focused initiatives in conjunction with the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs).
  • Build credible relationships with key management, business stakeholders, and peers in the region and globally by combining commercial and HR expertise to add value to the business.
  • Lead people agenda and initiatives in partnership with CoE, business/functional leaders to ensure performance and meet future talent needs and business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and challenge senior leadership and management to ensure they effectively manage change within the organization.
  • Partner with HR COEs, including Talent Management, Total Rewards, and HR Operations, to deliver effective human resources initiatives and achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Support all business units to provide alignment of performance goals and objectives.
  • Use data, metrics, and internal/external trends to arrive at insights and structure HR projects and activities.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues and support line managers in conflict resolution and grievance management, in compliance with labour regulations and market best practices.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Demonstrated commercial awareness and business acumen to ensure the right level of support and solutions to the business.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
  • Proven experience in delivering first-class HR services in a fast-moving team within a highly matrixed company across multiple countries.
  • Proven experience in a Senior HR Leadership role, operating independently within a highly matrix organizational structure.
  • Proven and progressive HR experience across Asia-Pacific/Japan, including India, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia & New Zealand.
  • Proven experience in applying regional employment law related to employee matters to achieve business outcomes across APJ.
  • Successful operation in a large, complex organization, including the ability to operate in a shared service environment, leveraging resources and expertise in the COEs to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing an HR strategy that supports organizational goals and objectives.
  • Excellent consultation skills, including the ability to work with several layers of management.
  • Experience working across cultures and in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to execute companywide initiatives with excellence in a fast-paced, global collaborative environment, commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Solid judgment and ability to assess risk relative to the business impact.
  • Experience in project delivery and change management initiatives.
  • Experience using data to identify insights that drive action.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and decision-makers to strategically solve problems.
  • Fluent in English – speaking, reading, and writing; additional languages desirable.
  • Pragmatic consulting, coaching, and facilitation skills.
