Description

The Head of Transformation and Continuous Improvement for Finance & Accounting Global Business Service Centre (GBSC) is a senior leadership role responsible for driving and sustaining the transformation of the GBSC’s operational and organizational capabilities. The role sits at the heart of the One GBSC programme and is accountable for programme governance, process improvement, change management, and building a culture of continuous improvement across all three process towers.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role working directly with the VP Finance and Accounting and tower leadership to translate strategic intent into tangible, measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Transformation Programme Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the One GBSC transformation programme, including the People Squad and Build Stream pillars
  • Own the programme governance framework, including milestones, risk registers, RAID logs, and executive reporting
  • Manage interdependencies across workstreams and ensure coherent, joined-up delivery
  • Prepare and present programme updates to senior stakeholders including the VP and US-based leadership

Process Excellence and Continuous Improvement

  • Drive a structured CI agenda across P2P, O2C, R2R and other finance and accounting towers, utilising Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies
  • Identify, scope, and prioritise improvement opportunities based on data, stakeholder input, and strategic priorities
  • Establish and embed SOP governance across all towers, ensuring documentation standards are consistently maintained and externally shareable
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure process maturity uplift over time

Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead change management activity across the GBSC, ensuring transformation initiatives are adopted effectively by operational teams
  • Partner with tower heads and Senior Managers to embed new ways of working
  • Act as a bridge between the GBSC leadership team and frontline delivery, ensuring clarity of direction and two-way communication
  • Support headcount migration and transition planning between geographies where required

Capability and People Development

  • Work alongside the People Squad to identify capability gaps and support the design of learning and development interventions
  • Contribute to the GBSC’s leadership pipeline by mentoring and developing high-potential staff
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of transformation and CI talent into the team

Governance and Reporting

  • Maintain a transformation programme office (TPO) function, producing clear and accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure all transformation activity is aligned to Zones’ broader Finance and Accounting strategic objectives
  • Support business case development for transformation initiatives, including cost-benefit modelling and ROI analysis

Qualification & Requirements

Essential

  • Significant experience in a transformation, continuous improvement, or shared services leadership role, ideally within a Finance and Accounting or GBS/BPO environment
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering large-scale, multi-workstream change programmes
  • Strong process improvement credentials, with working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent frameworks (Green Belt or above preferred)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly at VP and C-suite level
  • Experience developing and embedding SOPs, governance frameworks, and performance measurement systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Prior experience working in or with a shared services centre environment

Desirable

  • Exposure to P2P, O2C, R2R and other finance and accounting process environments
  • Experience managing cross-functional or multi-tower programmes
  • Formal change management qualification (e.g. Prosci, APMG Change Management)
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, MSP)
  • Prior experience in a US-headquartered multinational or technology company
