Description
For our Client, in a confidential recruitment process, we are looking for an experienced leader to set up and lead a new Shared Services Center in Poland. This role combines hands-on building with senior-level ownership: creating the foundations, bringing people on board, launching services, and then scaling them in a stable, well-governed way.
Our Client is a European organization making a new investment in Poland and establishing its first SSC/GBS globally. This is a true greenfield setup – meaning you will have real influence over how the center is designed, how it operates, and how it grows, while working closely with international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the SSC/GBS setup and ramp-up, including scope, launch plan, milestones, budget and success metrics.
- Define the target operating model: governance, service catalogue, roles & responsibilities, escalation paths, and decision-making cadence.
- Build and lead the initial leadership structure and core teams; create a clear hiring plan and ensure strong onboarding and early capability building.
- Drive end-to-end transitions/knowledge transfer: planning, readiness checks, documentation standards, and “go-live” criteria.
- Establish service performance management (SLAs/OLAs, KPIs, quality measures), and implement a rhythm for reporting and continuous improvement.
- Create and embed key controls and compliance practices expected in SSC/GBS environments (process controls, risk management, audit readiness).
- Partner with global and local stakeholders across functions, ensuring alignment and strong day-to-day cooperation.
- Build a culture of accountability, improvement and customer orientation – so the center becomes trusted, not just “another inbox.”
- Identify opportunities to standardize, automate and simplify processes as the operation matures (tools, workflows, productivity improvements).
- Support decisions on future expansion: additional scope, new services, team growth plan, and capability roadmap.
Qualification & Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building an SSC/GBS from zero (greenfield setup) – not only joining an existing, mature center.
- Strong preference for candidates who have launched the first SSC/GBS in a company, where governance and standards had to be created from scratch.
- Solid understanding of shared services mechanics: operating models, transitions, service management, stakeholder governance, and performance frameworks.
- Senior-level leadership maturity: ability to make decisions, set direction, and communicate clearly with executives and international stakeholders.
- Proven people leadership: hiring strong teams, developing managers, and building structure without overcomplicating things.
- Strong project/change management capability (complex timelines, multiple stakeholders, dependencies, risk management).
- Professional English (used confidently in meetings, written communication, documentation and steering discussions).
- Availability to work in a hybrid model in Wrocław (city-centre office).
Benefits
- Annual bonus
- Car allowance
- Hybrid working model, city-centre Wrocław office
- Private medical care
