Description

We’re looking for a Head of Talent and Capability to join our People and Culture team. You will help drive the success of the business through the design, delivery and embedding of a talent and capability strategy which lifts the performance and engagement of Lightspeed. This includes developing a range of learning and development, performance, talent and succession plans as well as supporting other key people initiatives within the business. This role is also responsible for promoting our culture of diversity and inclusion and driving practices and initiatives which support this and ensure it continues to be part of the Lightspeed DNA!

Head of Talent and Capability

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Chief People Officer, P&C Leadership team and the business to develop programmes and initiatives which lift the capability of the business throughout the entire employee lifecycle – from onboarding to manager capability, performance management to succession planning.
  • Develop and embed the People and Capability Strategy, ensuring employees feel valued, engaged, supported and developed at all levels
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning, providing opportunities for people at all levels to grow and develop their careers. In particular, ensuring our leaders are supported.
  • Lead Diversity and Inclusion at Lightspeed – leading the Director of DEI in delivering a solid framework which ensures DEI is embedded across the entire business – through both our processes and policies and through education and promotion
  • Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to a team of programme managers, instructional designers and facilitators
  • Drive a culture of innovation – leveraging best practices, research and new ways of working

  • Thought partnering with the CPO and P&C Leadership team on a range of People Initiatives – providing challenge, insights and feedback
  • Collaborating with the People Business Partners and the wider P&C Team
  • Contributing as part of the wider team to achieve organisational objectives even if this means doing things that aren’t strictly within the scope of your role

Qualification & Requirements

  • 10+ years in Talent and Capability, Learning & Development roles or generalist P&C roles with a focus on L&D;
  • Experience leading Talent and Capability teams;
  • Experience leading projects from conception to completion;
  • Experience in examining and re-engineering processes and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures;
  • The ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse business.
