Description

The Head of Shared Services will lead the design, implementation, and management of a centralised shared services organisation, driving operational efficiency, scalability, and service excellence. This role is responsible for overseeing the full range of back-office functions, establishing governance frameworks, and ensuring seamless service delivery across onshore, nearshore, and offshore operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the shared services strategy in alignment with business objectives and private equity or investor goals.
  • Design and implement the Target Operating Model (TOM) for shared services, including organisational structure, service scope, governance, and delivery locations.
  • Lead the transition of services from business units to shared services, including offshore and nearshore deployments.
  • Establish and manage operational governance, SLAs, KPIs, and performance management frameworks.
  • Drive process standardisation, optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with functional leaders across Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, Customer Operations, and other support functions.
  • Build, lead, and develop the shared services leadership and management team.
  • Own shared services budgets, headcount planning, and cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, digitalisation, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage senior stakeholder engagement, including Executive Committee, private equity sponsors, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Proven experience leading a shared services organisation or managing large-scale operational transformations.
  • Hands-on experience with offshoring and nearshoring models, including captive and third-party delivery centres.
  • Strong understanding of Target Operating Model design, service migration, and transition management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence, standardisation, and cost optimisation.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills, with experience managing multi-location teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing at executive and board level.
  • Experience in private equity-backed, high-growth, or transformation-led environments is highly desirable
