Description

Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of Global Accounts Payable to join the Supply Chain Management Procure-to-Pay team. The Procure-to-Pay team is responsible for global delivery of support services to the enterprise for the Procurement and Payment of goods and services.

Head of Global Accounts Payable – Financial Accounting Director

Key Responsibilities

Lead Global Accounts Payable day-to-day operations

  • Manage a global team (direct and indirect) of managers, accounts payable professionals and individual contributors to execute timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments and account reconciliation.
  • Lead Global Accounts Payable team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues, to meet workflows and productivity, to ensure service level agreements for delivery and quality are met or exceeded
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies, payment disputes, and supplier inquiries, working with departments to address issues efficiently

Set the standard for Risk Management and Controls

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable.
  • Define and implement appropriate policies, processes procedures and controls to optimize the operational environment in alignment with the companies Risk Management Framework

Foster a team culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track accounts payable performance and process adherence.
  • Review accounts payable performance to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, to modernize operations, improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Global Accounts Payable team.

Provide Strategic Leadership to transform Global Accounts Payable

  • Develop and implement a Global Accounts Payable strategy, integrated with the Source-to-Pay process, that delivers process efficiency, financial controls, and incremental value to the firm.
  • Incorporate industry-leading practices to modernize Global Accounts Payable to operate efficiently and deliver sustainable long-term value to the firm
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the firm to understand value delivery, define and implement opportunities for improvement

Qualification & Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
  • 8+ years of receivable or accounts payable experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • In depth experience with Accounts Payable and P2P Platforms (Ariba, PeopleSoft, SAP, Concur)
  • Proven experience leading accounts payable operations in a shared services or centralized environment
  • Strong track record of building and successfully operating large transactional operations, specifically focused financial controllership
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and financial regulations
  • Experience with employee expense report processing
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business partners
  • Experience leading a large, global organization to use data and analytics to achieve operational excellence
  • Experience transforming large, global organization to adopt leading best practices and advance technologies
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of change management, process improvement and project delivery methodologies
  • Experience with risk management and controls, working in a highly regulated industry
  • Financial Services industry experience
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with ability to motivate and develop a team
