Head of GBS Finance & Accounting

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Strategy

• Lead the development and execution of financial strategies to achieve organizational objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Accounting Operations

• Manage end-to-end accounting functions: general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and tax accounting.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Guarantee compliance with IFRS/GAAP and oversee all reconciliation processes.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure adherence to local, regional, and global financial regulations.
• Oversee internal audits, implementing corrective actions when required.
• Strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets and optimize operations.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting teams.
• Promote collaboration across business units and foster continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and set strategic team objectives.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Supervise preparation and delivery of comprehensive financial reports.
• Drive financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities.
• Lead cost optimization and profitability improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal teams to ensure efficient decision-making.
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior management.

Technology & Process Improvement

• Oversee financial systems such as SAP or Oracle to ensure efficiency and scalability.
• Drive process optimization and continuous improvement in financial operations.
• Implement digital and data-driven enhancements across accounting functions.

Qualification & Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is mandatory.

Experience

• 15+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting, including 12+ years in leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of Colombian tax laws, accounting regulations, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience in managing large teams within multinational organizations.
• Proven record in financial planning, analysis, and compliance management.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in financial systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
