Description
The Head of Finance Shared Services Centre (FSSC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will oversee the full implementation and management of the FSSC. The role requires active participation as a key contributor in the finance Shared Service digitalization & transformation team in Singapore in 2Q to 4Q 2025.
This role is ideal for a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in shared services, automation, and process reengineering. The successful candidate will support the execution of finance transformation initiatives, ensure strong financial controls, and enhance service delivery to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Shared Services Establishment & Leadership
- Execution of finance transformation initiatives to establish the Finance Shared Services Centre (FSSC), a team of about 25 to 30 headcounts, in Kuala Lumpur.
- Provide strategic input for finance digitalization and shared service setup, ensuring a smooth transition of finance processes from business units to the FSSC.
- Ensure the FSSC delivers high-quality financial operations, covering Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Credit Control, General Ledger, and other transactional finance functions.
- Develop and implement robust governance structures, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the FSSC.
- Monitor and optimize operational efficiencies through digital transformation and automation initiatives.
- Maintain strong controls ensuring all group policies and statutory requirements are complied with by the SG FSSC team. Elevate the accuracy and timeliness of the control environment.
Finance Digitalization & Transformation
- By collaborating with leadership, play a key role in both implementing digital solutions and driving the reorganization and optimization of finance processes.
- Champion workflow automation, and integration of new finance technologies.
Service Delivery & Performance Management
- Define and agree on Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with key stakeholders, ensuring service excellence.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and track performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance, and control measures across all FSSC functions.
- Identify opportunities to expand the scope of FSSC services and enhance its strategic value.
Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance
- Depending on the scope of services agreed in the intercompany service agreements, SG FSSC team members might need to assist in the following:
- Preparation of Board meeting materials.
- Act as the key finance liaison for internal and external stakeholders, including business unit leaders, internal & external auditors, tax authorities, and regulators.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, statutory regulations, and industry best practices.
- Maintain strong communication channels with leadership and functional teams to address concerns and align objectives.
- Establish regular communication with stakeholders to share successes and solicit challenges or concerns.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Group CFO.
Talent Development & Team Leadership
- Build and develop a high-performing finance shared services team in KL.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence within the FSSC.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Manage workforce planning, talent retention, and succession planning strategies.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree in Finance/Accounting.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA preferred.
- Minimum 12-18 years of experience in finance operations and/or shared services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes, internal controls, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record in supporting the execution of finance transformation projects or shared service centre setup.
- Experience with ERP systems implementation, process automation, digital finance transformation within the healthcare services sector is highly preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills.
- Strong ability to collaborate with leadership and contribute to organizational change initiatives.
- Able to travel to Singapore to work closely with the Finance Shared Service digitalization and transformation team.
