Head of Finance and Accounting

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting: Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping, managing both general and subsidiary ledgers, as well as overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Financial Statements & Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, alongside financial reports, while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Play a critical role in the development and execution of company strategies, including investment evaluations and participation in mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
• Shared Service Centre Leadership: Oversee and guide the performance of the company’s shared service centre.
• Technology & Automation: Leverage state-of-the-art technology and automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy across all financial operations.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and inspire a team of approximately 130 finance and accounting professionals, fostering high performance and a motivated work environment.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
• Internal Controls: Establish and monitor robust internal control systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualification & Requirements

• Degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in a similar role, ideally in a medium-sized company or larger corporation.
• Strong expertise in financial management and accounting principles.
• Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Proven leadership experience with a track record of motivating and developing teams.
• Excellent communication and assertiveness skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Fluency in both German and English is required.
