Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of the Accounting Shared Services Center (SSC) to lead the transformation and operational success of our finance function. This strategic role requires a strong leader who can define and implement a comprehensive roadmap for team organization, process optimization, and automation while managing daily activities and ensuring compliance with group procedures. The ideal candidate will possess both hard and soft skills to effectively lead and inspire a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Transformation Roadmap

  • Define and implement a strategic roadmap for the SSC that encompasses team organization, specialization, and enhancements in accounting processes.
  • Oversee and drive initiatives for process optimization and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy within the SSC.

Operational Leadership

  • Manage the daily operations of the SSC, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
  • Monitor performance metrics and develop strategies to achieve operational excellence.

Team Management and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating professionalism, ethical behavior, and a commitment to high standards.

Compliance and Audit

  • Ensure adherence to group policies and financial regulations, maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Oversee the execution of internal and external audits, implementing required actions based on findings

Cash Management

  • Manage cash flow operations, including forecasting and liquidity management, to support organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement effective cash management strategies to optimize financial resources.

HR Policy Implementation

  • Develop and implement HR policies and practices within the SSC, focusing on recruitment, performance management, training, and development.
  • Promote a positive work environment conducive to team engagement and professional growth.

Qualification & Requirements

Educational Background

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a Shared Services environment.

Hard Skills

  • n-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in process optimization, automation tools, and financial software (e.g., ERP systems like ORACLE and/or SAP).
  • Strong understanding of cash management techniques and financial reporting.
  • Expertise in managing internal and external audit processes.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving change and continuous improvement.
  • High emotional intelligence, with the capacity for empathy, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
