Description
Helprise — on behalf of our global business partner — is seeking a Global Payroll Lead to build a centralized, scalable global payroll capability within the Shared Services Center (SSC). The role will design, implement, and operate standardized end-to-end payroll processes across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an excellent employee experience. You will partner with HR, Finance, Legal/Tax, and local payroll providers to drive harmonization, automation, and strong controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Design the global payroll blueprint (process, controls, RACI, SLAs, KPIs) and central operating model in the SSC.
- Lead country transitions and vendor onboarding; pilot, migrate, and stabilize payrolls.
- Run end-to-end payroll cycles for assigned countries (inputs, validations, gross-to-net, filings, payments, GL, reporting).
- Maintain strong compliance and controls (tax, social security, labor law, GDPR; SOX/ICFR where applicable).
- Manage vendors via SLAs/QBRs and resolve complex escalations.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation with HRIS/IT (Workday/SAP SF, T&A, Finance).
- (Lead) Coach SSC specialists and prioritize workloads.
Qualification & Requirements
Requirements
- Multi-country payroll experience in SSC/BPO or complex in-house environment.
- Lead: 7–10+ years with centralization/transitions.
- Hands-on with global payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, CloudPay, Alight) and HCM (Workday/SAP SF); strong Excel.
- Solid knowledge of statutory requirements, payroll accounting, and payment processes.
- Experience with SOPs, SLAs, KPIs, and internal controls.
- Excellent English communication and stakeholder management.

- Large-scale country migrations, RFPs, vendor governance.
- Time & attendance, benefits, equity/RSU exposure.
- Additional languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish, Polish) and certifications (CPP/CIPP).
