Global Payroll Lead (Shared Services)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, statutory compliance, and timely processing.
  • Oversee third‑party global payroll vendors and ensure strong service performance and compliance.
  • Drive migration projects and lead the standardisation and automation of payroll processes
  • Establish governance frameworks including SLAs, KPIs, audit controls, and quality assurance mechanisms.
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, IT, auditors and external regulators to support business needs and resolve escalations.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Minimum 12-15 years of payroll or HR operations experience, ideally within a multinational, GBS, or Shared Services environment.
  • Must have payroll experience in at least one global region outside of APAC – for example: Europe, the Middle East, the United States, or EMEA – due to the global scope of this role.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to guide teams, oversee operations, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of payroll governance, compliance frameworks, and data‑privacy requirements.
  • Strong hands‑on operational capability, able to step into daily payroll tasks when required.
  • Excellent stakeholder‑management skills, capable of managing expectations and resolving escalations effectively.
