This position plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end Intercompany Accounting (focus service cross charging) process. The position is to drive structural global process improvement and standardization as well as automation teaming up with the innovation and analytic team and the business and enabling functions stakeholders. As Member of GBS, develop the key capabilities in GBS to support the Company strategy and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

High level Process Scope: Process Optimization, Intercompany Service Cross Charging and Reconciliation Process

  • Directly manage the business process, transformation initiatives and strategic & critical relevant programs such as ERP.
  • Continuously assess and enhance the end-to-end process for Intercompany Service Cross Charging, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements. Implement and support resource planning.

Business Process

  • Define, design, architect and implement a global relevant E2E process blueprint to optimize end-to-end operation covering operation units inside or outside of MBS to drive process simplification, standardization/ modularization and automation by working closely with operation units, business, enabling functions stakeholders.
  • Steer the right process applicable to Business and Enabling Function. Drive and implement the internal and external best practices.
  • Own the tools, applications, system, policy and process design by working closely with relevant stakeholders.
  • Define and implement process governance aligned with BPM team to cover such as, but not limited to, process change control, process compliance, documentation and maintenance and also define the process control and risk points and audit follow up.
  • Work closely with the data team to ensure data governance is executed

Strategic initiatives

  • Own and drive the relevant strategic initiatives such as ERP deployment and implementation or automation initiatives.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and best practices to help streamline operations.

Performance Management

  • Own, define and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operations performance and process standardization.
  • Benchmark the performance KPI internal and externally.
  • Drive and define SLAs in relevant aspects across business stakeholders across the globe.
  • Drive quality, user experience and effectiveness across the organization E2E by working with relevant business stakeholders.

Scope expansion

  • Own the scope extension and penetration both vertically and horizontally to deliver further services covers to the business and enabling functions

Capability building for relevant processes across organization

  • Develops critical capabilities in the value stream team for structural opportunity identification, prioritization, solution design, and steering.
  • Coordinates with operation leaders in R2R to develop learning journeys for SMEs in operations (CAO and centers).
  • Sets up learning & sharing communities per Sub-process to drive best practice sharing, knowledge sharing and enables the virtual process network with aim to bring quality and productivity up.

Organizationally

  • Work hand in hand with the respective delivery teams and its lead, in the hubs and/or center.
  • Facilitate via the dotted line between functional leader for R2R-Subledger report and the GPO-R2R-SL.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Side Management and Side Service Charging Teams, various Controlling and Service Delivery functions, Group Accounting, Group Tax, Business units and other stakeholders to drive process improvements.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting & finance or equivalent; Master’s degree or relevant certification highly desirable (MBA, MSc, CPA, CMA)
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a leading accounting expert role in a big multinational organization and/or Shared Services / GBS organizations with strong insight in general accounting and R2Rprocesses with dedicated focus on Intercompany Accounting with specific capabilities around IC service cross charging.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant regulations (IFRS, local GAP etc.).
  • Business process design experience is preferred with S/4
  • Experience with process automation and technology solutions for R2R (e.g. ERP customization, robotic process automation)
  • Proven experience running major multi-year process improvement programs across several levers, e.g., standardization, automation, policy changes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for improvement measures
  • Innovation mindset to identify tech-enabled measures to close process gaps
  • Result oriented, team player, good interpersonal skill, diverse communication style and strong influential leadership while able to work in a complex and matrix organization
  • Excellent communication to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, auditors, and external partners.
  • Proven ability to drive discipline and process orientation in a large complex organization
