The primary responsibility of a GBS Strategic Transition Leader is to ensure a smooth transition of a project from one phase to another or from one team to another. The GBS Strategic Transition Leader plays a crucial role in the project’s success by facilitating a seamless handover of the project’s deliverables, processes, and knowledge to the next team or phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Define Transition Plan: Develop a detailed transition plan that outlines the scope, objectives, timelines, and resources required for the transition.
- Communicate with Stakeholders: Communicate the transition plan, expectations, and timelines to all stakeholders, including project team members, sponsors, and clients.
- Identify Risks and Mitigation Strategies: Identify potential risks associated with the transition process and develop mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of those risks.
- Ensure Continuity: Ensure that the transition process does not disrupt the project’s continuity and that all critical functions continue to operate smoothly.
- Monitor and Evaluate Progress: Monitor and evaluate the progress of the transition process against the defined objectives, timelines, and performance metrics.
- Facilitate Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills from the existing team to the new team, including documentation, training, and mentoring.
